The Artist

My name is Michelle and I am the maker of honey x charm.

How am I suppose to pronounce the brand name? It's Honey and Charm, because it's a mix of the innocent sweetness of being a child while living and exploring the world around you.

When I started this business back in March 2023, I wanted to fulfill a few personal goals. My first goal was to learn a new hobby while I was pregnant at the time. I have a background in graphic design and printmaking. My second goal was to be able to create clothes and plushie friends for my baby as she grew up, but the clothing side is currently on the back burner because I didn't expect my plushie sewing side to grow as much as it has since. My third goal was to gain a new part of myself. Becoming a mom has changed a lot of things for my husband and I, and learning to be true to myself has been a challenge, of which many may understand as a working parent.

I focused on tinies to start off because they are small, easy to hold and play with for a little toddler who is still learning motor skills. They are stuffed with ultra plush polyfil and weighted with glass beads for sensory reasons. I have learned in the past years that both children and adults find a lot of soothing calmness when holding these tiny plushies, and I want to continue offering these as a way to help control big emotions, reduce stressful moments, and find peace in rubbing and hugging these Charms. Suggested by a fellow friend maker, I officially introduced my tinies as Charms to play with a part of my brand name and because the size is perfect like a Charm.

Pictured is the very first tiny prototype that I made just before I revealed Honey x Charm to the world publicly. My designs had changed drastically over the first two years, but the basics remain the same.

I welcome you to my world and I hope you find lots of enjoyment through my work.
